Navigating Grief With
A Certified Grief Educator
Grief is defined as deep sorrow caused by a significant loss. Everyone experiences grief differently. It is something that in one degree or another, is always with you. There is no linear path to follow, no set timeline, and each person’s grief is a unique experience.
Grief can feel very isolating. Family and friends may all be there in the early days. But over time, that attention wanes. It is in the days/weeks/months that follow when every emotion hits and the loneliness sets in.
I would like to be there to gently guide you through this journey while providing heartfelt compassion and understanding. You deserve to have your grief witnessed and when comfortable, I can offer advice and other strategic coping tools to help you.
This will be a safe space where we can take a holistic approach to grieving through mind, body and spirit. I believe I can make a difference as a result of training from a renowned grief expert. And I know I can make a difference as you navigate your loss because of my own personal experience with loss.
About Me
My loss journey began at eight years old, with the passing of my mother. I later experienced the loss of my father at age 23. These extraordinarily difficult events shaped who I was going to become at a very early age.
After college, I worked in the fashion industry and then became a college counselor for 12 years before having my two children. Now that one has graduated college and the other is enjoying her own college experience, I realized that now is the time for me to focus on others beyond my family.
When my mother died, our family didn’t seek any counseling or professional guidance. Holding on to all of the feelings that went along with loss for many years took a later toll on me both emotionally and physically. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to speak to people that had personal and professional experience with grief that I was able to move through it and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My goal is to help guide and educate people in grief. Coaching and actively listening to others - whether it be my students or my own children - have always been my passion.
Let’s explore a compassionate way to navigate through loss and find solace.
